Top 10 Strongest players on the World

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The Swedish striker is regarded as one of the best players on the planet but can also put himself a bit. Although he is known for amazing skills and some brilliant goals, he is a tough opponent as well. He uses his tough build to intimidate defenders and work himself into scoring opportunities.

Christine Benteke

The Aston Villa striker used his strength and physical fitness to good effect while helping his side to survival last season. He intimidates opponents and is lethal in the air – prompting Liverpool to try and sign him.  Has enjoyed a revival in fortunes at Villa since the arrival of Tim Sherwood, who knows how his side can benefit from Benteke’s strength and power in and around the box.

Romelu Lukaku

The Everton striker has made a name for himself in the Premier League and for Belgium.  Despite having troubles at Chelsea, he has enjoyed a new lease of life at Goodison Park. He is quick but strong and unsettles defenders with his presence and physical strength.

Yaya Toure

Despite his size and strength, the Manchester City midfielder has a great touch and a brilliant football brain. His power in midfield put him on Inter Milan’s wanted list as boss Roberto Mancini worked with him at the Etihad. However, Toure will be tormenting Premier League defenders again next season after pledging his future to City.

Chris Samba

The French defender has intimidated strikers across Europe with his physical presence. He is a no nonsense sort of defender who will not be pushed around. He now plies his trade at Dynamo Moscow after spending time in England with Blackburn and QPR.

Giorgio Chiellini

The Italian is an aggressive, tough tacking centre back who takes no prisoners. He plays at Juventus where he is known for brilliant tackling style as well as grabbing goals from set pieces, using his strength in the air.  He was voted the seventh best player in Europe in a recent poll.

Victor Wanyama

The Southampton midfielder uses his six feet and powerful status to good advantage. He made a name for himself with Celtic before moving to St Mary’s. The Kenyan has long been wanted by Arsenal for his strong tackling, and mobility as well as eye for an opportunity.

George Elokobi

The Cameroon defender has immense strength and a build which frightens many strikers. He does not go into his tackles lightly and intimidates opponents with his physical presence.  He is currently playing for Oldham after making his name at Wolves.

Danny Shittu

Shittu is a typical no nonsense defender who is perfect for the tough style of the Championship. The Nigerian intimidates opponents and has proved himself at clubs like QPR, Watford, and Bolton. Yet he is looking for a new club after being released by Millwall.

Adebayo Akinfenwa.

The Wimbledon striker is known for his huge build and his nickname “The Beast”. He weighs around 16 stone and in the FIFA 14 computer game was given the highest ranking of any player when it came to physical strength. He has knocked around in the English lower leagues with clubs Swansea, Millwall, Northampton , Torquay and many think his build has prevented him from progressing beyond lower league football.
